We are recruiting a part-time Business Manager to manage and deliver core financial and business processes for the organisation. We are a small team and flexibility is essential in this role, which is a fixed term contract until July 2025. We are also willing to consider a consultancy arrangement.
About Chapter Zero
The world has a huge climate challenge and Governments are starting to implement low carbon transition policies, including those leading to net zero. Business has a major role to play but individual companies cannot tackle the challenge of climate change without the engagement of the board.
We are building a community of non-executive directors (NEDs) and equipping them to lead crucial UK boardroom discussions on the impacts of climate change. Our 1,500+ members are helping ensure their companies are fit for the future and that global net zero ambitions are transformed into robust plans and measurable action.
Founded by NEDs, we offer our members tailored events, toolkits, relevant information and a peer network to draw on for experience, inspiration and ideas.
About the role
We have been going through an exciting period of transition having secured five years of funding for our team last year. Our network, influence and membership is growing, showing the critical role that boards play and the increasing urgency of climate change action.
As we take forward our programme, this role brings together existing responsibilities which are currently distributed among other staff members. Its primary purpose is to support the Executive Team by managing and delivering business and financial systems and processes to ensure they are efficient, up-to-date and compliant.
You will have a minimum of six years’ professional experience in a finance role or managing finances as part of a broader role for business. You may have or be working towards an accounting qualification or similar and be able to demonstrate an understanding of business management systems and processes. You are highly numerate, accurate and consistent in your work.
This role can be flexibly managed across the week with a few fixed delivery dates each month making it ideal for someone looking to fit work around other commitments. We are willing to discuss a consultancy arrangement if preferable to the right candidate.
Please submit a CV (no more than two pages) outlining your skills, experience and qualifications with a cover email briefly explaining why you would like to work for us to firstname.lastname@example.org
Applications will be reviewed as they are received and suitable candidates invited for an informal conversation. Candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as the vacancy will be closed if a suitable candidate applies.
